Proximitive Disclosure
Sound Installation (2007) : Audio tracks, computer, speakers, wood

Every history of ‘place’, begins with one's own, this is where yours is different from mine – there lies a sense of place.

Proximitive Disclosure is a means to question the boundary and denotation of ‘place’. Within the installation, a real-time speech algorithm is constructed from sentences and phases of the Swedish Pimsleur learning audio-book. Regarding personal space as a ‘place’, the algorithmic conversation reflects upon the situation when social interaction could be considered as an intrusion of the ‘place’.
